Updating findings on insurance

I've been researching online people's problems with regard to finding insurance.

The problem appears to be the online system. I've found out that with many companies the online quote automatically rejects bankrupts because further information is required. I've read that many of these companies will let you be insured by them when calling over the telephone.

I'll see next week when I try it out for real. What I do know is i'm hitting my head off a brick wall with the online quotes so hopefully there's some thruth in this.

Also I have to be prepared that I have to pay upfront for this years under the terms of bankruptcy. I thought it was only for value of £500. never mind, as long as I can get cover.

It's great that you have never had any problems with insurance but, with respect, have you ever read any of the small print in any of your policies?

The onus is on the customer to declare it, not on the company to ask. In the case of the companies people have had real, live, genuine problems with the companies' efforts would simply extend to refusing your claim because you have failed to actively declare a material fact!

Please, please, please - read the small print. That's where the Devil lurks and he may well be laughing because of two things: firstly you won't be insured, not at all, not in any way and secondly, you won't get even a refund because it was your responsibility to read the reams of nonsense the big companies hide away in Time New Roman 8pt...
