  • Hi Rethink

I am new to all this too and like you am feeling really peeed off at myself for getting myself into so much debt BUT I can't recommend enough giving National Debtline a ring. I've been trying to pluck up the courage for months to phone them and it was such a relief to talk to someone who was completely non judgemental, didn't make me feel silly and gave some really good advice. I know exactly how you're feeling and it is very scary but it will only seem half as scary once you've spoken to someone.

    Good luck

I don't think you'll be able to put them in as a creditor, but you could probably add more to categories in your SOA to 'hide' the money you're paying them, for instance putting that you spend more than you do on food, or putting in a small amount for dry cleaning. It'll be just a bit here and there to add up.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Well I have a telephone appointment with Payplan this evening very nervous but just spent an hour sorting out what I spend on what etc, am worried about the loan with my parents as don't want to include this there is no way I can tell them 100% no way so still need to pay them which should still be ok with an IVA I hope but advice appreciated.

    Thank You :0)

Well basically because I have a new debt they can't help for at least 6 months but it was pretty intense and scarey and I felt like I was being judged at the end she asked how I got into this mess why didn't I action this earlier so felt very small when she said that. She went through an IVA and DMP and explained them but we have decided not to go with either of them and just see if we can sort it ourselves. Hubby is going to look for a 2nd job, and I have my two businesses launching so fingers crossed.

Feel more positive about it all today but still feel a little scared.

    A xx

rethink - I think it was martin who said there is no debt problem that cant be solved(correct me if I'm wrong). I'm sorry Payplan seemed judgemental. We used CCCS and found them most helpful or you could try Citizens advice. If you went down the IVA route you would not have enough money to pay your parents however careful you were as they are quite tight with their budgets - believe me I know!
I wish you luck in trying to go it alone, let us know how you get on.
    Do what you love :happyhear
