I am looking to go with my wife to Venice for a short break. I have checked the local airports and there does not appear to be any direct flights from N Ireland.
This being the case can anyone advise of the best hassle-free way to get to Venice?
Thanks

I went in June and flew from liverpool to Venice Treviso with Ryanair (£15 return
). Ryanair have a bus waiting at the airport that cost 10 euros for a return ticket and drops you off by the railway station in venice. There is a water bus stop very near by which will take you into the centre of venice and was about 6 euros each. It is the most beautiful and magical place I have ever been to- you should definately go!! My parents are going this month for the 2nd time this year (they went via the Orient Express in May!). They went a couple of years ago in october and it was flooded though...people were canoeing in St Marks Square!! Virtual Sealed Pot challenge #48Sealed Pot Challenge- #7290 -

Ummm... venice is flooded every year. Do you not wonder why there was all the holes in St. Mark's square?
When we went, we flew to Verona. It's then possible to get the train, but I believe you also need a boat transfer as it is an Island. (I think!) The trains are dirt cheap over there.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

We stayed in this one and it was fabulous. It has remained at No 1 or 2 in Trip Advisor for years. Not ver dear either and good location near a Vaporetto stop.

I stayed in this one - the Centauro - in November a couple of years ago, and it was excellent.

I had a wonderful week - sunny days, though it got chilly at nught. But there were floods in the same week last year, so you take your chances!0 -
I visited Venice last year . Flew from Belfast Int to Marco Polo with Sleazyjet (looking at their website they dont appear to fly there anymore ?!)
I would definitely recommend it as somewhere to see before you die .
Never flooded when I was there.0 -

Nice. What's even funnier is the amount of people who thought it wasn't funny...0
