Starbucks Surprise Freebie?

Got an email from Starbucks on the 21st of August mentioning a ''Surprise'' ''Freebie'' as I have a Starbucks Rewards Card and signed up for email news.

It says there's something exciting brewing and that there's going to be a new freebie coming soon. I thought it'll take them a couple of days since the mail to announce it but I'm still waiting! Anyone have any ideas of what it may be? Hopefully the return of the free coffee after 2pm:T! Would be handy in this weather!

I'll wait to find out what Starbucks is brewing first and then decide! Chances are I'll prefer Starbucks though!!:rotfl:

Does anyone know if this is this just a loyalty card that you can pick up, get stamped or something when you go in or do you have to register/suscribe for it and if you do is it free or do you pay for it? ... can't seem to find out much about the offer by googling....

  • Hi Pip26 - basically the Starbucks card is like a top-up or gift card. You basically pick one up instore, top it up with say £5 (not sure if there's a minimum amount) and you can then use that to buy your drinks or anything else on sale. If you buy a drink you get free extras like shots or flavours and I think if it is going to be free wi-fi, you will have to register the card online once you've got it and topped it up. When it was first launched, if you registered online you also got a free drink voucher sent in the post but I believe this offer expired in June or July 2009. Hope this helps clarify things.

We're all still waiting on what the surprise freebie will be but looking at the website it seems they're rolling out (very slowly) free wi-fi so I would agree with jmarko on that guess.
