Disposal of sun tan lotion packaging

Have had a major declutter and come across numerous half used bottles of suntan lotion. They are definately not this years, so would not want to use them as don't think they'd offer any protection.
What is the most 'green' way to dispose of these?????
Our local recycling collection like bottles to be washed out first, but should i be washing this stuff down the sink???? But don't really want to just chuck the bottles into landfill either.
Just trying to do my best for the environment, so any suggestions gratefully received.

Not much more you can do than pour these down the sink, then recycle the bottles I'm afraid.
Whether they were applied to you first or poured directly down the sink, both routes mean the contents will end up in the environment sooner or later.0 -
Unless there are lots of bottles I really don't think it's worth worrying about. If you're happy to rinse them all out then do so and put the bottles in recycling, otherwise put them all in for landfill.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0

Rinsing them out shouldn't do too much harm. Once they work their way into the drains the suntan lotion will be a tiny percentage of the water content.0
