Congratulations - sounds like it went smoothly.

We had sausage and chips for dinner tonight too - sausages cooked at home, chips from chip shop. Yummy!

  • Well done. I am at the same stage as you. Wishing you the very very best of luck x

There was about a two week wait to get the appointment so build that into your plan. Once there - the whole process went very quickly. Now just awaiting the OR interview date and paperwork. Dont stress too much over the forms. I did, but the lady at the court was so helpful and made the odd minor correction etc. Hope all goes well for you.
  • Well done HE, glad you got through the day :)

    Thanks Mrhadenough:beer:
  • Well done. I was under the impression the landlord didn't need to know about your BR if you didn't owe them any money. I am a bit concerned about that as I am hoping to go BR in the next few months and as I don't owe my landlord any money I thought they wouldn't need to know. That's my biggest fear - people (I know it's silly) finding out!

Thanks Dirtpoor, and I can relate -Other people knowing and judging me has been the biggest thing for me. I'm a teacher and I hate the thought of people looking down on me because of my BR. (It certainly doesnt make me a bad teacher, unless I perhaps was a teacher of accounting...!:cheesy:) Other teacher's, parents, landlord etc. could know. But I've had to do it and started to adopt the attitude that it's not their business and I'm not a criminal. I've made some very bad decisions in life which is all I've done wrong and I'll come out of this a stronger and wiser person so I'll hold onto that thought. Dont forget - it's your life and sometimes we've just got to ignore the judgemental ones! As for the landlord thing - it came as a surprise to me but luckily I'm up-to-date with payments etc so hope it wont be a problem. Just rather they didnt know. It may also only be unique to this OR office (Sheffield). Good luck with your BR. Keep posting - the people on this forum are brilliant! Thanks again for the encouraging comments above.

The OR has to contact your LL to check you live where you say you live, you are up to date with payments and that the tenancy is fine. Some OR won't if you ask them not to but others will anyway.
