what is the APR on the Guide Dogs card...if its 0% how long will that be for and what will the rate be at he end of the promotion period, how much are you able to pay off each month on these cards

The APR is 0% for 9 months, then 12.9% following the end of this promotion. My aim is to pay the minimum on the Guide Dogs card during the 0% period, and throw as much as I can at Virgin.

What might be an idea, which is what I did last week, is phone Virgin & say, you are thinking of moving your card, as you believe that there are some 0% ones on the market etc, whats the best deal they can do you? Coop dropped mine from 14.9% to 0%. Different card number, but suits me fine.

I tried this before applying for the Guide Dogs card, and was told they could not reduce it any further, but could consider me for a loan instead :mad: Which I declined!! Thanks anyway Lynz, glad it worked for you!

I Promise that I will upon transferring any balance, instantly close the account (eg Next) and cut up the card. I will then lower the limit on the other card (eg Virgin) so I CANNOT SPEND ANY MORE!

Make sure when you phone up to do the transfers that you check whether or not there's a fee, and whether this matches your terms and conditions. If they try to charge you a fee wrongly, ask them to check with their supervisor and don't take no for an answer!

I've already done this and they've confirmed no fee. Have had the pin number this morning (haven't even opened the flap as I don't intend using the pin number!) so hopefully the card will follow soon.
