Q on co-op cashminder plz

Hi
I have the forms from the co-op to transfer my DD iam filling it in now and hopefully posting it today
Its been sitting on my table and i have been staring at it for a week , i have been stalling closing down my bank account with the branch i have been with since leaving school ( a long time ago ) and its scary
now that the biggest DD have came off on the 1st ie electric etc i think now is a good time
How long will the transfer off my DD take ? worried incase its not all done before they are due to be paid again
On the form there is 2 options to tick , to either close old acount down and transfer DD or not to close it down ?

oh god iam just panicking

thanks

To be honest you're better off changing the DD's over yourself, all you have to do is phone the people whos DD's you want to carry on paying and give them your new bank account details.

These DD switching services have a nasty habit of going wrong with DD's being missed and not changed over, leaving you in a right pickle. Even the lady in our Co-op branch told us not to bother with it.

The first things you should do is give your new details to all the people paying money into your account.

Leave it...they'll not let you close while in debt balance anyhow...it'll be included in your LILA anyhow so let the AIB worry about it instead of you
