Broken necklaces

I would like to make some glasses chains, spectacle cords, eye-wear restraints, or whatever they are called, out of my old broken necklaces and beads. Does anyone know what the little rubber thingies that join the necklace to the specs are called? Or where to buy them?

whereabouts in the country are you?
they should have them in hobbycraft (see stores here ), but i don't know their proper names.:happyhear0 -
I'm afraid I am 40 miles away from the nearest Hobbycraft. If I knew what the little thingies were called, I could perhaps mail-order them.Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0

ebay is always an option for beading supplies - after various combinations of words (eye glass holders finally won!) i found these.
otherwise the bead shop in covent garden does mail order and has a few options on this page of their catalogue - they're not usually the cheapest place to get things but they do have a good range!

That is really helpful melancholly, thank you very much. I have added the bead shop in covent garden to my favourites list. And I now know the little thingies are called spectacle holders.Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.0
