No you are not misreading, at the moment the wii internet channel is 100%, zilch, gratis, etc etc.
Normally this would cost you 500 wii points, but Nintendo (who never giver hardly anything away) are giving it for free.
Not sure if this is a limited offer, or a permanent thing, so grab it while you can!
*** for those of you who dont know how to, go to the wii shop channel, when its loaded click on wii channels and its there. You may also get an email on the wii with a direct link.

Thanks for that. My DD will think I'm the greatest when I set this up. Somewhere in the back of my mind I knew you could do this but never gave it a second thought, Our laptop died last week so all I've got to do is buy a wii lan adapter and away we go. :j0

just to let you know the wii internet channel is really hard to get around. it takes so long to search and type unless youve got a keyboard. and some sites do not work.
nintendo dont really give out free stuff like the op said but maybe theyll be releasing a new version dont know.feb: Big blue towel, Meat Mincer, Cadbury's chocolate
