I have been watching a cooker on ideal world this afternoon and wondered if it would do the same job as the remoska?? What does everyone think?

As it's only £25 incl postage thought it would be a good buy?

Hi dallam,
A multi cooker is not the same as a remoska although it will cook some things that the remoska will cook. The biggest difference is that the heat in a remoska comes from the cover whereas the element in a multi cooker is in the base. Also a remoska is more economical to use running at 470 watts compared to 1500 watts on the cookshop mult cooker.

Does anyone have a Remoska? Can anyone tell me what it is like? Do you use it enough to make the cost worthwhile?Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

Several people on here swear by them, but I think it's fair to say that there are a few issuesTry these threads and make up your own mind:

esmf73, there are loads of threads about the remoska and most people who have them really rate them highly, do a search for remoska.

That's not necessarily true. The watts quoted are the maximum used, as the remoska only has one setting it will always use the maximum stated. The other item has 5 heat setting so will only use the maximum when on setting 5. I would expect it to cook most things quicker than the remoska too, so you may be using abut more electricity, but not for as long.0 -
This is probably more like a Remoska...

..but you don`t get Lakeland standard of customer service/no quibble guarantee.0 -
Thanks for all your replies I haven't bought the multi cooker although very tempted. I worry it will just sit in the cupboard after a while. I have to agree about customer service, Lakeland are excellent wheras Ideal World leaves a lot to be desired hence the reason I think very carefully before purchasing from them.
Oh well £25 saved for today.
