Any problems switching Gas/Electricity supplier while BR

I'm 6 months into my BR and am thinking about switching my electricity supplier to save a few quid. However the T&C's for the new supplier (British Gas) says they may refer to a credit agency blah blah as usual. They are my existing gas supplier.
Has anyone tried to switch suppliers while BR? Any problems?
I'm worried that if I apply to switch and British Gas discovers I'm BR, they will force me to have a pre-payment meter and an expensive tariff. Has this happened to anyone?
Thanks

I have just changed my supplier without any problem but I was discharged in April, not sure if that makes a difference.

I'm dreading sorting this out. I think this is going to be the biggest of my headaches.0

I've changed gas/elec supplier since going BR..also ISP and phone line, without any probs.:T
When i switched phone line i was credit checked but it came back ok. I think that was because i didn't owe any monies to the new supplier though.
Give it a go, the worst they can say is no, but i doubt they will if you didn't take that BG into BR.
Good luck
Edit: just to add i switched suppliers because of a house move and it was already a pre pay meter with BG. Best thing i ever got was a pre pay meter.
It has honestly worked out cheaper than paying a quarterly bill.....don't believe the horrors stories you hear about pre pay.The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter
