Off to Newcastle next weekend, staying in the Slieve Donard. Any recs for restaurants / pubs in Newcastle?
We will maybe eat in the hotel one evening but thinking of going out the other. Any suggestions appreciated as we don't know the area very well.
TIA:beer:

O'Hares (I thought was good)
Quinns Bar (I thought was good)
There's a little American style Diner there too (wasn't in but looked nice)
Burrendale (Another Hotel though)
Loads of other wee restaurants too....
Also
Mourne Seafood Bar (In Dundrum so you'd have to drive but apparently is great seafood - Maybe you could pop in on the way home)
And if your in a rush home there's the Roadside Chippy beside the Supervalue on the Belfast road just on the way out of Newcastle. Great Fish & Chips I thought.... Nice Aussie guy manning it at the time I was at it
Hope this helps0 -

yes quinns is now amazing. really well done inside after being refurbished. halfway down the main strip on the left hand side
ohares is good too. down the botton of town near the the mourne seafood bar in newcastle. it is better than the one in dundrum. my parents live in dundrum and travel to newcastle to go to the mourne so that says it all
to be honest quinns and ohares are the only ones worth going in that are tourist friendly0 -
