Endowment shortfall query

Hi - hope someone can help me ..
I was sold a N.U. endowment policy in 1990 by Leeds Permanent B.S.
Q1 - I'm assuming if I want to complain of mis-selling, then it'll be through Halifax? Am I too late anyway? - I moved to a part repayment mortgage in 2002.
I've been aware of a shortfall for years, but last months letter was the first Red Alert
Q2 - How can I tell if the endowment was sold by a N.U Agent, or an IFA - the Red Alert warning letter states that if it was the latter, there's a likelihood that there's been a timebar imposed.
thanks

Call up and ask NU who sold you the policy, then you will know who to complain to.You are not too late.Trying to keep it simple...0

If the policy was sold by Leeds Perm in 1990 it will be Halifax you need to address the complaint to as they were tied to NU at this point...Who's going to fly your plane? / When you need to make your getaway....0

Hi Johnny Hamster, if last months letter was your first red alert then it should contain somewhere(usually at the end of the letter in a little box) a final cut off date by which you must complain. When you say this is you first red alert have you had other reprojection letters in the past talking of "high risks" of a shortfall. If you have then you may already be technically time barred on the basis of these letters. If you feel you were miss-sold go ahead and complain. If they then try to time bar yo and not even look at your complaint you could threaten them with court action.
These early letters have been found wanting in court so there is still hope.Read this article
