I searched and found a bunch of threads on this topic but all of them seemed a year or two old. So im wondering if theres something newer out there.
Im looking to buy a king size memory foam mattress because of my bad back, and have heard these are great compared to the traditional sprung mattresses.
Would like to buy a tempur one but at £1400, its way too much.
I found this seller on ebay who has fantastic feedback and thousands of sales. Looks like he is based in Germany, but will post to the uk for £35 or £40 which doesnt make a diffeerence because the prices look quite cheap already.
Whats confusing me is he is selling something called a "Gel-foam Mattress". Is this the same as a tempur one or could it be newer technology? Does anyone know?
He also sells something called "Water-Viscose Mattresses".
I just cant work out the differences. But they both sound good. Although the gel one is more expensive so youd assume that would be the better one.
The sellers ebay id is knowhow11
A link to a current auction is http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Orthopaedic-Gel-foam-Mattress-150-160-x-190-NEW-TOP_W0QQitemZ4458029264QQcategoryZ20479QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Unless someone knows another well priced supplier

I think you'll find that many of the mattresses your looking at are made by Magniflex. e.g Relaxan and Waterlatex.

There's quite a few here at that sort of price.

Not done the eBay mattress thing yet but I'm also looking into it. I seem to remember reading a thread somewhere (possibly a link off MSE) where someone had bought a mattress from this ebay seller and was more than pleased with what they got. Quick delivery and they were still happy with it a few months later.0

I suffered for years with my back & hips & couldn't wait to get rid of my old matress. So once we moved out here I invested in one of these matresses & it's made by Dunlop, I also bought two pillows. Wow what a huge difference it made, my back no longer bothers me & my hubbys neck injury is now a thing of the past.
I highly recommend these matresses & it's worth paying that little bit more for oneShaz xx
