Does anyone know where the, closest to the city centre, free on street parking is? Or the cheapest to pay?

Ooops..just spotted this.
On street parking is scarce in the city centre, the closest you'll get is 2 hours free parking at the Gallagher retail park - where Matalan , TKMaxx and Brantano are.
On street parking in the city centre is free after 6pm, but tbh there's not much of it about.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Thanks for the reply. I parked in a multistorey close to the railway station but as my son moves up there next week and I expect I will be up fairly regularily. To be honest it did not break the bank but it would have been nice to find somewhere for free for the future.0

The last time I was in Dundee parking was free down by the shore down past the Apex hotel. Just a few minutes walk to Reform Street.0

In city quay you get two free hours aswell, but it's a bit trickeier to find the entrance to.
You can park on Riverside drive for free, across from Tesco, but it does tend to be busy and is a longer walk.
OP- I think that was Greenmarket you parked in.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

The Lidl's in the CC is free for I believe 1.5hrs. I got a fine from there once, so wasn't very cheap for me.
I usually park in the overgate as the charges are pretty reasonable IMO if you're in for a couple of hours or less.0 -
you need to be a Lidl customer.
fwiw the Wellgate car park is cheaper than the overgate.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Have been in Dundee twice since and have discovered what I think is free on street parking between Riverside Drive and the city centre. I have not had to use it as yet and there were no spaces yesterday but will keep in mind for the future. Thanks again for all the replies.0
