Although notification of this work under Part P of the building regulations would have been required (since the work was done after Jan 1st 2005), no-one can prove just when the work was done, especially if he used the wiring colours in force at the time (red & black). The new (European Harmonised) cable colours were still optional at that time (brown and blue came only became mandatory under 17th Edition wiring regs in July 2007). Contrary to what was posted above, the "new" coloured cables DO NOT have "2005" printed on them seeing as it has nothing to do with it!
If the work was done in back 2005 then don't worry about it for a minute, no one should care about or ask for any certification. (and yes, I AM a qualified and certified electrician, look at some of my other answers!).0 -

Thanks, though it does say H2005 approx every 200mm on the 16mm cable, if this isn't the manufacture date of the cable, then what is it?
