Inst uniform

Where's the best place to buy an RBAI (Inst) uniform for someone going into the sixth form? It's for a friend who has just found out that he's got in and needs to buy everything tomorrow to start on Tuesday! I know he'll at least have to get a regulation blazer, jumper and tie.
Can he wear a 'standard' pair of black trousers and white shirt and keep the cost down by not having to buy from one of the school's listed uniform suppliers?

Yes you can buy the trousers in Dunnes Stores for £9.50, Teflon coatd and every bit as good as the ones from Warnocks school shop or Gowdys. ( mens dept ) I was with my sister and nephew on thursday getting his for Inst. Tie must be from school shop ( there are different colours in Inst ) and also blazer as The guy Crawford does the blazer but it takes a week to get the badge embroidered on it. White shirts also in the mens department in Dunnes £3 each. School shoes. Shoe shop in castlecourt near the escalator at the bottom Think it was pricless shoes.......also black school socks 5 pk in Dunnes for £2 ( mens dept ) we were done in half an hour and my nephew went home on the bus while we headed round the town...hope this helps.....
DO NOT BUY A JUMPER AS NO ONE WEARS ONE...I MEAN NO ONE.........0 -
Chuckle. Thanks for the advice.
I know jumpers are just not the done thing but he's an overseas student and isn't used to our crappy weather. I honestly don't think he'll care that he'll look like a first former if he can keep himself warm. I guess the other option is a vest ... but that's just as bad!
