In need of reasonable car finance/loan
Options
I hope someone out there can help!
I am 27 and since 2000 have had 2 defaults both of which were paid within a year of default. The first one defaulted in 2001 and paid in 2002 and the other was a mobile phone dispute which occurred in 2008 and I settled with them in 2009, other than this I have never once missed a payment to anything.
I have one credit card which has not been used in over a year and gets paid 3xminimum payment each month a mobile account and an overdraft and thats it.
I am on the electoral roll, all my creditors have my address, I have no ccj's and yet I am unable to get finance for a car i so badly need.
I am a serving police officer and if i default i lose my job, so i am considered a lower risk and yet i always get refused. When I do get refused they seem to refer me to the underwriters as it is never a straight no, but then decline me. I have a car to trade in but this far have not offered, as i was planning to give it to my mother, but I wonder if this will help. The dealers always promise they will find a lender for me and guarenee a result but I am wary as dont want to make matters worse. I can get a guarentor but Blackhorse and Halifax do not seem to entertain this.
I have applied for a loan twice in the last 6 months, and I am unwilling to pay silly money when I know myself I cannot and would not default.
Anyone have any words of wisdom or advice? Or even point me in the right direction to a company that will help?
Thank's in advance,
Datsun.

sadly, defaults are almost as bad as a CCJ
you really have little chance of a loan at the moment
if you already have a car why do you need another one?
if you have some-one willing to act a guarantor, then they might just as well get the loan for you and then you pay them back.
serving police officers aren't than badly paid ... think about the reasons why you haven't saved for another car.
sadly, althought you know you won't default, you have done so twice already.
I don't know your circumstances but maybe better budgeting may help

is a good budget planner.. if you want to post the results up then maybe people could help0 -
Are you offering any deposit? - if not then it shows you cannot afford it if your current car isnt on finance! The manufacturers finance arms normally do gtors - however may have to pay more for the car.0
