Don't know if your old router was a Belkin but if so they have lifetime warranty
I used this when mine died and they sent me a brand new one with a far superior spec to my old one.

hi mike how did you go about this? I think my router is dying.. My Desk top and my lap top keep dropping connection? I also have a belkin 54 and I was just wondering if it may be my settings ( I have never had probs until the last few weeks) of whether it could be my router (which I had since they fist came out)

Sorry if I have gone off topic

I got the number from the Belkin website. The 0800 number didn't work though when I tried a few months ago.
Customer service desk is a bit of a nightmare, conversations like:-
ME: my router psu is dead
THEM: have you restored factory settings
    ME: can't psu is dead
THEM: have you tried re entering username and password
    ME: Can't psu is dead
Anyway he asked me to take the PSU to PC world for them to test it, I refused as it wasn't bought from them and he told me he would send me a replacement(after about 45 mins)
They then sent me an 125M router with print server, though this didn't have an integrated modem like mine does so I sold it and sourced another PSU.
Not sure if this was a mistake on their part or if i was supposed to use the PSU from the new router. Still I am happy with it.
