Umm - thats what you do to curl your hair when it's not permed. Permed hair needs a quick scrunch dry.

What about trying a serum rather than a mousse. I have annoying, thick inbetween hair ie not straight not curly. I find that serum I use cheapo fructis for dry hair, sorts mine out if I want it curly, I just scrunch it in and it dries and doesn't feel stiff or anything, smells nice too!

Also I found after years of having unruly hair that it was condition that was letting mine down, now I use natural shampoo and conditioner with no drying parabens, and no other products (except serum once or twice a month) or the occasional spray of hair spray if I'm going out and have an up-do. My hair is much straighter, much finer and I can get away with just straightening my fringe and maybe a quick going over the tips.

Like others have mentioned find a good hairdresser, and ask for a consultation.

i have really thich hair too... like the lion king when i get up of bed lol... i thought about perming aswell but i get fed up with changes quickly.. so what i have decided to do is this... every 3 weeks i thin my own hair... my mum got me the thinning scissor sso i can do it myself,. it has made a huge difference, because i control how much i want out and that, my hair is straight and nice now, even when i have a shower, i do not need to use anything else.

  • Ok so i've decided against a perm lmao

My mum has brought me GHD's for my bday, she really is my angel in disguise bless her. So i'm going to see how i get on and maybe get it cut short again the next few weeks.

I have a good hair dresser but she's not to clever IYGWIM so asking her what sort of cut is just a nightmare but shes really cheap. I'm saving up to go to a salon before i definately have it chopped off so i can get a proper opinion.

Thanks for all the great replies xx
