Any advice, hints or tips gratefully received please.
My 2 year old has 'painted' margarine over my fabric sofa:eek: and then had 2 mins of fun rubbing it in before I caught her.
My house is up for sale and with a viewer scheduled for tea-time, i am trying my best to keep c a l m.
before I start scrubbing with everything I can find in my cleaning cupboard can anybody please suggest the best way for removal.
I have started by scrapping excess off with a butter knife but what next?

Eek - can you turn over cushions or cover up with a throw? If you use any product on it it'll still be damp at tea time I would imagine. Can't you remove grease from clothes by placing brown paper over it and then ironing it, so the paper absorbs the fat?
Sorry I can't help.0 -
Hi we are having the same prob here as our cat left a nice fur ball on ours and has left no mark but a horrid smell. On our instructions for grease it says:
use a specialist cleaner or dry clean
I have just rung the 'specialist cleaner'! they are calling me back with a quote they are nationwide so will let you know if you still need to get it sorted. I may revert to the dry cleaning if not..grrr!!0 -
Sprinkle cornflour on it, leave it for a bit then hoover off you may need to repeat it but cornflour is good at absorbing grease.0

I am going to say washing up liquid as the soap will lift the oil.
Cover with a blanket/throw wile the people look around.
Best of luckIf winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0
