Hi Splodge. The most important things to keep up to date on are the mortgage and council tax as these are considered priority payments. When you know what your new circumstances are (ie with OH's job) you will be in a position to negotiate the arrears on all 3. Do you have any other debts? If so, stop paying them all until you can sort out the council tax, mortgage and car.

Hi, you need to speak to someone for free profesional advice to see what your best options are, recommended are the CAB, National Debtline and CCCS, their contact details are in the stickys at the topHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
Please note that any views i put forth are not those of my former employer The Insolvency Service and do not constitute professional advice, you should always seek professional advice before entering insolvency proceedings.0 -

FiveYearPlan is right, pay the mortgage and the council tax as a priority, you'll not feel guily about not paying your other debts when your mortgage company wants you out of it's house!
Feed the family, heat the house, then think about what you can reasonably afford to offer to your creditors for the meantime.Would you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?
CCCS funded by banks0 -
Aw, it's a rotten place to be in honey I know. Just make sure you pay mortgage, council tax heat and electric and be able to feed your family. Talk to a charity about your options, I used national debtline and they were very friendly, I was so embarrassed and was talking quietly but I was a great relief to know my options.. or option, which I why I am here on this board. Even if bankruptcy is your only option, all is not lost ok
