5 yr extended warrenty money back if no claim made.help needed :(

2001 I purchased a tv and video + a 5 yr extended warrenty. I purchased these items from Northern Electric (which went into administration I think).
The warrenty stated that if I never cliamed on it within 5 yrs, I could claim back the full warrenty amount.
The warrenty ran out on 16/11/05, and I never needed to claim on it. Only problem is that with the company going into administration, I am now unsure whether the company was taken over, and whether I'd still be entitled to claim the money back or not.
Any help/advice would be most welcome please. Anyone in or has been in a similar situation even??

If the company was taken over then perhaps the new owners took on the obligation of things like this with the business always worth asking.

I've reclaimed similar unused 5 year warranties without much hassle.

Don't know whether it was taken over, as it was the retail side of the business which went into administration, not sure about the utilities side of northern electric.

    Hi,
You normally have to make your claim within 30 days of the expiry date, therefore you may not eligible anyway
    I haven't got one!

I know I claimed 2 back from Comet last year and they definitely had to be claimde within 30 days, but, yes, obviously check it out first

  • Looked at the warrenty, and it seems it is a 30 day thing. Ah well, missed out again lol
