I know, ss - we are indeed a sad bunch  - especially me for getting worked up over a pair of "safety shoe" - hardly in the league of Imelda Marcos. :rotfl: :rotfl:
Still - can't be all bad - no "trundling" tonight. :T :TI am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

DFW Nerd # 166 PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS0 -
Afternoon all - sorry not been around have had a sh1tty day which started last night. Eventually got the telly back at around 7pm:j was watching the news at 22.10 when all of a sudden the power went, managed to feel my way to the bedroom where I keep my wind up torch (the best £3 I have ever spent). checked the fusebox..it was ok..no power in the flats at all..no power this morning and managed to contact the peeps who look after the electricity in Birmingham..there was an underground cabling fault eventually the power came back on at 13.10 which coincided with my decision to get out of bed (well, I was nice and warm and didnt want to be cold). Decided to put some washing on and thought that the washing must have been done so went to put it onto spin..little red warning light had appeared saying call for service so I pressed the start button again to start it off..so the machine has filled with water, was making an horrendous noise accompanied by a burning oil smell so now my washing is stuck in the machine and I have had to call out the washing machine man:rolleyes:0

Hello again,
Rog - it's suprising how important a pair of shoes becomes when the ones you have leak in the winter, that's not funny:mad:. Really glad you've got them sorted now anyway.
Horace - what a nightmare couple of days you've had, hope you get sorted soon.
PPP - hope your house fund is going OK.
Off now to get something to eat and glass (or possibly two) of wine - well, it's Friday! Back later. The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

House fund is coming along nicely Solvent - recent ebayings have added another brick to it and free listings this weekend might add another one
"Grand Designs" here I come! :rotfl:
In the meantime, tea was very nice too. Curry, possibly the best I've ever made, followed by cake, which could have done with a touch more sugar, but that would have involved opening a new packet. Still, even bad cake is good
Happy Friday everyone (except trolls)!Refusing to Sit Down & Shut Up since 19740 -

(well except one make I found once which has fish oils in it :eek::eek:- fish in popcorn I ask you what is the world coming too).

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?
firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.
The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT.

Tixy - I love popcorn too but fish oil and popcorn sounds a strange (and, frankly, not very nice) mix
Lula - well done on the new cover, hope it wasn't too expensive, I've got mine to renew next week
Angie - hope you have a good weekend too.
Hello :santa2: to any newbies out there and welcome. Please read the message above and watch out for the trolls. The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
