Good Morning everybody :hello: :hello: :hello:

Bit late 'on duty' this morning, as I am not a happy bunny today. :o:o

Had a note pushed through the door first thing. One of my neighbours has 'knocked' my car - said it was a 'scratch' on rear bumper and would be around this evening to fill in Insurance Forms. No problem with that - these things happen and it was good of him to 'own up'. However, on closer examination, the impact has pushed the car up half way on the kerb (one of the back wheels is not even touching the road). The bumper will probably need replacing and I am worried that the impact may have damaged the rear suspension or at least put the rear tracking out.

I am working this afternoon and evening and don't want to risk driving the car until it has been checked out, so it looks as though I will be walking to work.

Oh well - brown stuff happens.

Have a better day than me everyone.

Have you taken photos to show the wheel and everything - so that you can show all the damage including any to the suspension was caused by this bump.

As you say at least he owned up but hope you don't have too far to walk to work.

Have taken some photos on my mobile - my friend is coming around in the morning to take some better photos - he has a professional 12 mg camera.

It's only 2 miles to work - I often walk, but usually drive when the weather is like this - especially with my leaking Safety Shoes.

Still at least it's not as cold as yesterday.

Aww Rog..its horrid when someone prangs your car and it turns out worse than they admit to. He must have hit it at a hell of a speed to cause that much damage:eek:

As for work..is there anyway that you can get them to provide you with the shoes? I think what you need to do to make them get a shift on is to contact the HSE. You cannot be expected to walk about in those dangerous shoes.

Gloomy here..walked to quacks this morning got on quite well but the dizzy tablets have been reinstated so that means I shall be having an alcohol-free christmas:rolleyes: Had a row in Tesco this morning - bought some stuff off the reduced shelf but was told at the till that it wasnt reduced yet..I was like rumpelstiltskin..but I needed the stuff so was forced to pay full price but needless to say I shall be writing a strong letter to Tesco.

Thanks, H - car is, indeed, a bit of a 'b*mmer'. I know it's not a new car, but it was in very good condition and, given my circumstances, all I could afford. I don't think he hit it 'at speed' but he hit it with a pretty large Mercedes Van - probably didn't see my little VW until he felt his van 'dragging'. Anyway, I shall be claiming against his insurance as I have a £250 excess. Hopefully it will all be done amicably.

Bad news about the Tesco reduced shelf - what often happens is that customers have already picked up 'full price' items, then they see the same thing on the reduced shelf. Rather than take the full priced item back to its proper place, they will simply take the 'reduced' item and 'dump' the full priced one on the same shelf. Not really the fault of Tesco, but annoying all the same.

I have complained about my shoes - on Monday I put in a formal complaint and am assured that it will, now, be dealt with as a matter of urgency. I will probably wear 'ordinary' shoes today, though. I'll probably get a 'warning' for not complying to the rules, but needs must.

Ohhhh Rog, what a bummer. He must have been doing quite a speed to knock your car that badly. At least he has owned up but that doesn't really help you at the moment. Hope the walk to work isn't too awful, but probably not going to be very pleasant with your leaking shoes  Hope you get it all sorted out, fingers crossed.

Hello to everyone else, hope you are all well.

    Mercedes vans are like tanks:rolleyes:

Tesco admitted that to me that they had put the stuff on the reduced shelf but had decided against marking the stuff as reduced (it was around 11am when I was in there) despite all the stuff having a use by today date, they would do the reductions later:rolleyes: Most of it is in the freezer now except for the cheesy mash (it was a treat) as it is going to top the cottage pie I made today and then my peeling spuds can be used for a potato, cheese, leek and bacon pie.
