can you help

i recently thought about changing my mortgage with the halifax new rates and all that. she gave me some examples over the phone and i told her the one i was interested in changing to..she said she would send the paper work for me to sign but to my knowledge i never recived it and so i didnt sign anything yet they have changed my mortgage is this legal ?

    Hi Mike,
    No expert but if the product switch is one that lowers your monthly payments, doesn't involve you paying any fees and doesn't tie you in with penalties for a period of time then I would have thought they could do it by phone at your request [all calls are recorded and monitored etc, etc] as it is beneficial to you. However, if the switch in any way adversely affects you whether it's by costs or limiting your freedom to move to another lender, then I think they would need your agreement in writing to the new terms.
