What is the Voucher system you mention for unbiased.co.uk?
Its a bit of a gimmick. It allows you to have the first meeting with an IFA free of charge.
However, an IFA cannot charge you until they have made you aware of their charging structure and given you a chance to exit without incurring charges. So, typically the first meeting is always free whether you have a voucher or not. That said, its good for the people that have never used an IFA and dont know how IFAs are paid to know that they wont be charged in advance of using that IFA.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Just one thing, have you acertained if you can actually increase the contributions you make to your plan?
I realise that the company contribution is capped at 4% but do they allow you additional contributions. If they do this has to be your priority regardless of the investment options?
Likely to be a cheaper option than a separate arrangement
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Heres a reply to the previous 2 posters.
I used the voucher from unbiased.co.uk all you do is find a local IFA who uses unbiased. Arrange a meeting, print off the voucher from the unbiased page and take this along as sort of payment to the IFA. Guess they make money if you return to them for buisness.
Secondly, yes the company scheme is seeking members to make AVC's to our pensions so its an area im going to look into.0 -
all you do is find a local IFA who uses unbiased.
99% of IFAs are listed on unbiased. The number that pay to have an enhanced entry is a lot less though. So, when checking online, always unselect the option to only show paying IFAs.Guess they make money if you return to them for buisness.
IFA promotions doesnt get anything from the IFA for clients that proceed. They earn from the IFAs paying to have an enhanced entry.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
