Thank you so much for your help,
In the family theres 2 adults and 2 children,
Regarding internet I use it daily on days off as I need it for updates from my job, warnings to attend meetings and for work communication. I can show that I can access my work from home by sending screen shots if need be. Also as part of our court order my son has to have web cam visitation with his dad weekly, this is court mandated.
Regarding heating, only 80 stg would equate to 160 dollars roughly. This in no way is enough when it can reach -30 to -40 with 3-4 feet of snow at any one time.
Sadly I wish I was exaggerating about this, but im not.
What do you reckon?0 -
Ok well as i said go to makingsense and fomat for mse. Mush easier for us to alter and adjust your allowances. I forgot about extreem weather and to honest i think they should make allowances for that, also the cost of living ect. Do that format and we can go over it again.DxFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

I would lower the phone amount and make it up in the housekeeping section (I'd make that at least £600).
Don't think you'd be allowed to carry on paying visa or UK home insurance.

ps seeing how much you pay for medication for your children makes me glad that I no longer live in the US. Imagine not being able to find the money for that! I'm sure some people have to choose either to feed the family or buy medication - heartbreaking!

Have you included child support income? I guess that the OR will likely want to see your entire family income and will then calculate your obligations based upon this.
Total income 2340.00
Mortgage payments or rent on
your home £ 760.00
Housekeeping (including food
and cleaning) £ 478.00 I think OR allows around £600 for family of four
Gas, electricity, other heating £ 185-200 per month depending on varying extreme weather conditions Probably will have to show evidence as quite high
Water £ 0.00 (In US this is paid by the Landlord)
Telephone charges £ 120.00 (Includes PAYG cell phone, all TV and internet) Too high. Given that you have a court order for web contact, I guess that internet access may be considered but probably will depend on cost. May suggest that you pay from your surplus. Cable won't be permitted.
Travelling to and from work
and other essential journeys £ 150.00 (No public transport whatsoever, all costs are Gas) Seems reasonable, although you may have to provide breakdown as fuel costs are lower in the US.
Clothing £ 100.00 includes diapers for child, replacing school clothes.
Maintenance payments and
fines £ 0.00
Council tax £ 0.00
Other essential payments
(e.g. life/household insurance,
car tax & repairs) Is health insurance provided with your job? If not, then this needs to be included.
Long term disability insurance 21.00 If this is deducted at salary source, reduce your take home salary and leave this out.
Work legal insurance 22.00 See above.
Car loan 156.00 Won't be allowed, I think. OR allows vehicle with value of no more than £1000 or thereabouts usually. You will probbaly be told to sell your current vehicle and given around £1000 from the proceeds in order to purchase a cheaper replacement.
US Visa card payment 39.00 Won't be permitted.
Daughter monthly school trips (Part of school curriculum) 10.00
Daughter music lessons 61.00 Unlikely to be permitted.
Insurance includes car insurance and home/renters 168.00 Is this per month? If so, it will likely be deemed as too high.
Medicine for childs bowel disorder 25.00
Childs inhaler 15.00
Entertainment 50.00 Unlikely to be permitted. Change it to allowance for holidays.
Haircuts 30.00
Vehicle maintenance 40.00
Every school break we must pay for return flight for child with a return flight for parent to escort to West coast of US this costs approximately 500.00 As already indicated, because you have a court order, an allowance towards this may be awarded although it is unlikely to be for the full amount.
UK Home insurance 20.00 Unlikely to be permitted.
Total approximately 2455.00
I note that you are not paying towards a pension or 401-K as I think that it's called in the US. The OR normally permits this up to around 5-6% of gross salary. However, I'm not clear whether you need to be paying this at the time of bankruptcy for it to be considered an eligible expense. Since BR is intended to give individuals an opportunity to get back on their feet, it would be worth asking about.
Hope this helps.0
