New Job - Will it affect mortgage?

Options
Please advise if you can! Me and my husband are relocating and have a mortgage agreed in principle. He works for the govt and is simply transferring, i was intending to transfer with my current employer but have been offered a new job similar to what i do now with a higher salary but with a six month probation period. I have worked continously in the UK for the last fifteen years and have been with my currenyt employer for five. We havent submitted payslips etc yet as we have not sold our property so are looking for a new one - is this going to affect our application??

Your job will as you are in a probationary period.

I suggest your read the terms and conditions of any mortgage offer carefully.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

Nationwide used to be OK with people on probation periods.
Mind you, they have tightened up a lot recently, so not sure that is still the case

Nationwide still ok with probation periods but do double check because everything is potentially changing!

Many thanks all. The mortgage agreed is with Abbey and until we speak to them we dont know.
Its so frustrating!!! But that is the way of the world I guess. :-(
So - new job or mortgage first... ????? Big decisions to make!

I have just got a mortgage with the co-op, and am 4 months into my 6 month probationary period. It didn't go straight through, and was passed to a manager to OK, but apparently because I have worked in the same line of work for years it was fine.

How big a factor is your salary on the income multiples for your target borrowing.
