Typing to Earn Extra Cash...

Hi All,

I have been thinking of advertising to take in typing to earn some extra money coming up to christmas. The problem is, although I can type fine I have no idea of the best way to start this and also what kind of fees should be charged for the service. ???

Should I charge by number of words, by page? What would be a reasonable sum? Also, would it be worth my while to do this in terms of income tax (I work full time too)?

I'm sure I would get plenty of offers in the interim, as I work for a University and advertising would be only limited by the numbers of flyers I could stick up around campus!

Thanks for your help! ;D
I'm so sexy it's a wonder my underpants don't explode.

I would say the best way would be to look on the boards at the uni and see what others are charging - there are always lots there. It used to be either per page or wordage - per page is more difficult cos of layout etc.

  • Just curious, I work in our local College and wondered whether you did get any work of this kind. I looked at our boards and found no notices so I don't know whether this means there is or isn't a market for it.
