Car Hire

Need to hire car for 2/3 days next week but am finding either no availability of extortionate rates being quoted. Average 2 or 4 door vehicle as long as price is ok. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.:huh:

Have you gone to the companies directly or have you used other sites like those on Martin's Car Hire Guide? :money:

Have you tried Lindsay Ford. They say their prices start from £20 per day.

Have used Kayak which gave a few decent options but some of the firms seem to advertise a cheap headline rate but then add on additional items such as excess waivers etc. and price escalates. Tried phoning a couple of the firms direct which were suggested through the Kayak and other search engines but getting higher quotes or told no cars available. All very confusing!!!

Hi, unfortunately the availability has been reduced and therefore the prices have rocketed. The reason is that the car hire companies are finding it tough getting the finance for cars. They have cut away back on their stocks due to this. I have heard that Lindsay's are worth a try as they have a car hire business and their branches have cars. Also, Corrigans (based in Belfast & Dungannon) may be worth a try.
