*Please Help* Unknown CCJ Problem

Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum and i am in desperate need of help i dont know what to do.

I applied for a loan recently and got refused to my amazement, so speaking with a nice representitive they went off to the credit checking department to find out why, he come back and told me there was a CCJ from Nov 08 on my file.:eek::eek:

I was bould over with shock, i reguarly check my credit file with experian and there is nothing on there, i called them up and asked why it was not showing and they said it was because the address the judgement had been registered under was not in my previous address list.

So moving on, i decided to spend £8 online to getthe details of the judgement from trust online, i called Northampton Bulk Court and they gave me details of the solicitor who registered it against me, it was capquest legal department.

Speaking with them on the phone they have said i owe £516 from a royal bank of scotland account from the year 2000 at which time i was 17.

They would not give me anymore details and told me to write in.

So the plot thickens, the address at which the judgement has been registered against me was an address i lived at in 2006 for approx 1 month, i have never been there since., and yet they registered a CCJ against me in Nov of 2008.

I have never known anything about the money i supposedly owe or what its for as far as i was concerned the account was at £0.

What do i do next, i am so angry that this has happened and i never knew anything about it .

Please help.

  • hello.... i had a ccj against me for dvd's ( not alot i know BUT)...i moved from the address in question and notified the dvd company.... THIS WAS TWO YEARS LATER THAT I KNEW ABOUT THE CCJ)...
I got a report like you did and i called the company, sent them PROOF of my present address which prooved i was living there BEFORE the ccj claim, so it proved that someone had frauduential had stuff in my name.... I also sent a letter to the reporting company with proof too, which they put a hold on the ccj as "query" until sorted...... I did hear from the dvd company and because i had proof i guess it was withdrawn...
SO.... if you can prove that you were not living at that address at the time of the CC claim ( get bank statements, wages slips ANYTHING, council tax bills or ask for them to confirm time spent at present address.... if you can prove that, they know its not you and should cancel you off and i guess the length of time, clear it as bad debt...... try it.... good luck !
