Ring National Debtline, you should be able to get through to someone to speak to today.

Hi MA, have you tried to get free professional advice from CAB, CCCS & national debtline? These are better placed to help you convince BOS/Halifax. Why the urgency?

Sorry I'm not an expert in this. Can you not postpone the meeting until you've had advice? If not I would strongly suggest you not sign any paperwork without having a chance to get it explained to you by an expert (not affiliated to HBOS). Was your offer of £100 made in writing and declined in writing?

Any more than 8 a day is harassment. There is a letter on here asking them not to phone you as it is harassment but I can't remember where it is.
    ** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **
    ** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
    **SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.
  • i was asked to complete a payment plan and faxed this to them.. It clearly staed the spare £100 and when speaking to them they said that they would only accept £161, so its a no win situation as well they know. so they are not giving me any help whatsoever.
  • thanks to all , your making me feel positive.. the call count is 52 calls in the last three days. also i receive 3 letters on average per day from HBOS.

Sorry Martin, I wish I knew what else to tell you. The more experienced members of the forum must be out/at work/etc. I'm sorry you going through this 'harrassment', maybe get caller id and don't answer unknown numbers. Have you considered delaying appointment until you get advice?

    Hi Martin

I know how the panic can set in sometimes especially with the endless calls & letters etc....its will be dominating your thoughts just now but try & stay calm & I would strongly suggest you speak to one of the debt charities asap.....Nat Debtline are usually call & chat whereas CCCS / CAB are appt based.

Here is a link with loads of info to read up on...

Make sure that your creditors know that you are seeking advice. The main thing is that you still have the means to make some payment & indeed it is your wish to settle this matter.

Good luck with dealing with this....remember knowledge is power & use this to make an informed decision...that will make you so much more in control.

    Sorry for the waffle.
