Where to buy mixed nuts cheap please

I was going to make nut cutlets as my veggie ds really likes them. I found a recipe which I can adapt slightly and so feed his gluten free gf as well. But I was shocked at the price of 200g of mixed nuts £1.89. so does anyone know where I can get them cheaper please ?

The ones you seen were 95p per 100g. These are 74p per 100g - a fuller nut and bigger variety of nut (no ingredient list)

These are more basic (peanuts, almonds and walnuts)

Do you have a scoop a market near you?

  • I'd suggest heading to a 'continental' supermarket. There's one near me that does large bags of nuts and dried fruit for stupidly cheap prices. I buy them in 2-300g bags, mix a couple of types together and store them in airtight tupperware. They'll keep for a long while if it's airtight and are great for munching on :)

This page seems to show that you could get a similar product for only £1.70, but I suspect the site would not get any commission if you bought them from asda.

    Price Comparison * Logo1VerySmall.gif £2.89£2.22 - Valid until: 06/09/2009

    * Comparison of similar own brand products

No, I was complaining that the site was pushing one product when there was clearly a similar product that was 52p cheaper.

You can buy "Add to Trolley" the £2.22 bag from tesco, but not the £1.70 bag, from Asda from the site.

As the site makes it's money from what you buy, I do think it had it's own interest at heart and not the users.

I also don't believe for one minute that the other two sites don't sell mixed nuts, but I suspect that if they do then they are even cheaper.

I wasn't having a swipe at you, it was the comparison site I was having a swipe at.

    73.9p / 100g

    Asda win

julian graves and holland and barrats often have sales on their nuts in larger bags. both shops are a bit pricey for their regular prices but both have excellent prices on their sales items, i check the windows everytime i go into town, just in case!
  • Julian Graves at the outlet retail parks is very good. They also half price everything about twice a year so worth stocking up when they do it.

I also find Aldi very good for bags of almonds and hazlenuts but can't remember the exact price and quantity.

I was also going to suggest Julian Graves. They're also very good for herbs and spices in larger quantities than you get in the supermarkets.
