hi All
Well , three months after starting "the process" I am now reaching agreement with all but one creditor. Its been tough , but I am nealry there. Most intrest frozen and no more charges on Credit Cards.
i have learnt that I must not spend what I have not got. I have learnt to think before all purchases. I have learnt to look around for best prices on everything.
So my little mesage is that this does work , and you will learn lessons. I am on my way back up after years of struggling month on month.
I actually have money left in the bank at end of month due to extra part time shifts I get. I dont buy stuff fo pleasure use now. No DVDs or CDs. I use a library for books and The Internet for news.
I carry a debit card only. I have no overdraft or credit facility to use.I drive more economically and looking to change to a smaller car when I have saved a bit of money.
My Hobbies now are walking (to town on a saturday) and bootfairs (buy stuff for ebay)
So all those just starting out on the path , look back in three moneths and you will see what you have achieved.
thanks to all on her for advice and I guess ill be back at some point for help

hello john,
you are doing amazingly well hun. ive always followed your posts. i took your example a month or so ago. i cut up all cards and now only usually spend cash. i only have a debit card which i use for any online purchases which crop up occasionally, and pay money into an expense account, if i need to buy something which should come from that money, like this week, new school shoes for ds2, i write a cheque and immediately transfer funds over from the expenses account and update spreadsheets accordingly. i have some money in savings (roughly 320 quid which is for emergancies only) if by the end of the year none have happened i will use the money to overpay my loan. i save 150 per month towards debt repayment for those creditors who will only accept a full settlement ie my loan. i feel much more in control since i sorted this all out, although the odd thing comes along and you have to readjust the figures.
keep up the good work and keep posting how you are doing

Congrats John. It took frienda several months to get the interest frozen and payments agreed. Big relief when done.

Argos just cant understand the principla that I cnat afford to pay them more than Ihave offered and have told me not to pay anything. But they are owed so little I couldnt care less about them and their attitude issues0
