NATIONWIDE - will only do it once the existing place has been let for 1 month with a Bank statement to proove rent received.

You need a dedicated broker not an IFA

Conrad is indeed correct - and they also want a copy of the tenancy agreement

  • It may be out of date, but Yorkshire Building Society were offering Let to Buy mortgages at reasonable rates, but only to direct customers, and not through brokers. This was 6-8 weeks ago, worth a call to them to find out more.

    Hi

I am in teh exact same position, we are moving from an apartment into a new house and at the moment we are waiting on out mortgage offer, though it has been agreed in principle. we are now taking a new mortgage with the Ulster Bank in NI this is also a let to buy. we had to put down a 10% deposit. just hope we hear next week that we have been given the offer.

So in order to get the Nationwide mortgage I have to make myself homeless for a month, and then trust that they'll stick to a decision in principal, otherwise I'll have nowhere to live and own a flat that has a tenant in it for the next 12 months!

There must be some way around this. Will speak to them tomorrow.

Good idea - as otherwise you will not meet their criteria either.

Your IFA should really have cleared this up for you
