Had a job interview... when should i contact them?

I went for a job interview on Fri 14th (or thurs) which i saw advertised on the Job Centre website, at the interview he said that the job was just posted in that days local newspaper too but would contact me either way by the following weekend (Fri 21st)
Ive gave it this week now but when should i contact them ? or if i should at all - he might still be interviewing or maybe forgot about me? who knows!

Is it too soon to ring them back to ask?

If it's after the date he said he would get back to you I would definitely give him a ring, just be polite about it!
