They are the third party because the CSA is a totally separate department from Income Support who pay the benefits. The CSA would rely on the PWC telling them the truth and reporting to IS what she had been paid. If you want it to be taken into account then there would have to be an investigation and if you won't make the allegation then it certainly won't happen as you have to provide the evidence to income support of the 30k that you have paid to your ex. If you aren't willing to do this then they won't deem there to be an investigation as there won't be any evidence nor an allegation of one.

I look at it like this. You wont drop your ex right in it because you dont want to, and thats very nice of you. very commendable thinking about any hardship incurred by her from your actions.

But, your ex is sitting there having already taken 30k in child support off you and SHE IS PREPARED to sit back and drop YOU right in it:mad: she is going to let you pay twice knowing shes already had the money from you once grrrr. Where are you going to get the money to pay again???? if they slap extortionatly high monthly payments on you leaving you unable to live and keep up a roof over your head what will you do???? You payed once paying twice is a p*ss take.

Dont forget while you pay the maintenance you have already payed once, they will be taking current maintenance, fight it do something but please dont just sit back and pay twice because its not right or fair.

I hate that when nothing is enough, more more more, I want more .

The only problem I see with the day/night thing is a child can go to a parents house after dinner at night, sleep, get up in the morning and leave the house and that parent receives the support for them. Whereas they can stay at the other parents all day, from morning to evening and the costs associated with supporting them will be a lot more when you factor in food and bills etc yet that parent gets nothing towards them or nothing reduced off of their child support they might pay.

I appreciate it's a difficult thing to monitor though.

Yep - I have a friend who's ex takes the kids last thing on a Friday (after tea and drops them off before football on a Sunday morning - before breakfast of course. The same happens on a Wednesday.

The NRP gets a three day reduction in maintenance payments when in fact they are actually there for one day.

Unfortunately this was this or nothing contactwise, so for a variety of reasons the PWC chose to accept this.

Unfortunately unscrupulous parents will always exploit loopholes :(

However, poor as this system is, I can't imagine how unscrupulous parents would react if days counted - even if people don't actually lie - the nitpicking over how many hours on how many days were spent at this household - not just hard to monitor - impossible. Add that to the hardcore parent who will actually lie....nightmare.

Some do lie though and from what I've read, some PWC's do. I've read about PWC's denying children stay over at the NRP's house so many nights to avoid having the child support reduced. It works both ways and is very sad.

Oh yes, no denying it's from both sides - some poor kids have parents who don't give much of a stuff about their kids - both NRP and PWC and both sexes :(

In the end they hate their exes more than they love their kids.
