I am not sure why these myths about nylon shirts being 'sweaty' have developed. Nylon is in fact much better for keeping you dry as the moisture is 'wicked' away from the skin and the nylon then dries quickly. As for static, well most synthetic fibres are notorious for static. Take my expensive 'Craghoppers' fleece, bought recently. It is always full of static and I am constantly getting shocks!
Unfortunately, hardly anyone manufactures nylon shirts nowadays as other fibres have taken their place but I can fully understand JeanCT's liking for them. I wouldn't be without mine. Presumably these posts are from people who have never worn a nylon shirt in their lives.
