From what I understand, most of the Nokia phones with Symbian OS will work with TOMTOM, although I dont think any are touch screen, ideally you want a PDA with a touch screen something like the MDA Compact from T-Mobile although it costs £179, but if your with Tmobile and upgrade you could prob get it real cheap or even free as I did.

Anyone want to throw in more sugguestions to a cheaper touch screen phone for SATNAV (ideally tomtom)

The lack of a touch screen ont he mobile version of tom tom isnt that bad, the menus are all either accessable by the left, right up down button or you can use the number pad it works really well. The screen size isnt really a problem either.

Buy a bluetooth GPS unit and "aquire" the software for testing purposes if you have a problem let me know. I have just bought a Holox GPS for use with a nokia n70 I have have my own Holux gps slim 236 whihc is brillaint and tiny for my PDA navigation.
You will also need a memory card for your phone 128Mb is the minumum to fit the tom tom software on

I was surprised how good TTM is on a Nokia, well worth it.
