Hi everyone again- yes, found a minute to get online!
have another quick question- does anyone have any recommendations for removals companies in east belfast (or belfast)- looking it to be cheap and cheerful- not that much to move and only moving about 4 streets away:)
I phoned up a number that i found on gum tree and think it was just a bloke with a wee van..i asked him if he could get some one to help him- he said his mate whos on the dole could help- hubby thinks it would be a disaster ala fools and horses lol
So reccos appreciated

A1 Removals in Comber were very good when we used them, even storing the stuff over the weekend when we had a moving day disaster

Wee man with a van can be as good any depending on the job! (ie - how far is the trip between houses? Can you make multiple runs?)
Make sure the van is big enough for the largest of your belongings - couch/bed - and then participate in the job yourself (I mean of course that you make your husband participate!)
I moved house in May, had the keys available to the new house and it wasn't far so I hired a transit van (Europcar, I think) which was more than adequate for everything (kitchen table, beds, bedroom dressers etc) just meant i had to do a few runs.
Ask the man his price and then use that as a guide line to negotiate a different price along the lines of per journey in the van and something extra for safely packing and unpacking!
If you go with a bigger removals firm then the trick is to have everything boxed and ready beforehand anyway. Organisation is key - start early and do it at a leisurely pace - not cramming everything in everywhichway coz you have to hand over keys tomorrow morning!
PS - i can be a VERY stressful time! So don't fight with hubby!Would you ask the wolves to look after the sheep?
