Fixed Rate Mortgages

Hi
We're struggling to pay our mortgage which is fixed rate for another 2 years. We have had a baby and my partner got made redundant in the last year. Although he has another job it isn't paying as much and I am now working part time because I have free part time childcare. If I worked full time I'd be worse off paying for childcare and not see my baby.
Does anyone know if mortgage companies are willing to try and reduce your monthly payments to help out even if you are on a fixed term?
Thanks
