Not sure what EK is (E. Kilbride?), but maybe this site will suit your purpose.

In England, we don't get these passes until 2008 and then only because the government was shamed into it!

Hi Amanda, the bus you require is not the 1st, 2nd , 3rd but the fourth bus!!!
Sorry, stupid but couldn't resist it.
However the 1st bus (company name) number 43 goes from St Andrews Square in Edinburgh to South Queensferry. Hope someone else can come up with alternatives and have a very nice day walking to Fife.

    John.

If you get a bus to edinburgh and change. A number of the fife buses stop at the bustops either end of the bridge. Just check you are on one that will stop....a lot go straight to the park and ride at Inverkeithing and that would be a bit of a trail back to the bridge.

Personally I'd walk from the edinburgh side...stop for coffee at the hotel (Queensferry lodge Hotel) at the other side and then walk back (or get the bus ;) ). I hope they are reasonably fit...its quite a walk - hillier than you'd think and on a breezy day can be bracing.
