I want a decent kitchen knife

Hello Very random thread Im sure....
BUT my hubby is a very keen cook and has basically sharpened his cooking knife to death and has asked me for a new one for his birthday (Not a psycho I promise :))

Basically I want a decent knife but on a budget or even a knife set has anyone seen one anywhere? I looked on ebay but they don't appear to sell knives?

TK Maxx usually have a good selection of high quality knives at lower than usual prices.

I have an excellent own brand one from John Lewis, in fact it was a Christmas present a couple of years ago.

'What would you like for Christmas?' I was asked.

'A big sharp kitchen knife please mum...'

When you do a lot of cooking from scratch it's an essential.

  • Another vote for TKMaxx. Was in there this week and they had some very nice knives from £3 upwards.
  • Brilliant thankyou guys! I never thought of TKMAXX for some reason -even though my other half likes to look at the cooking bits in there :)
I'm with you on that one Guilliana does sound dogy asking for a big sharp knife lol

I have a friend who seems addicted to buying knives at TXMaxx. Must have every type of knife going.

I have been through a few sets in my time and a couple of years ago settled on a Global set. Marvellous knives, mind you I do look after them and sharpen them each time I use them but I love them
