Question about bank accounts

Just a little question if anyone out there has an answer. We're now discharged and was wondering if, when we're back on our feet, we open a bank account with a bank that we had an account with prior to br and that was o/d would we be able to? And secondly would they be able to take any money out of that account as payment for what we owed them before?
Halifax have some great savers deals again and obviously interest is poo with the co-op account. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks for taking the time to read this

Doubtful with the same bank .....most accounts are & will be credit checked so while the BR shows on your files you'll struggle...although not to say you'll be refused I managed a NatWest account with o/d etc no questions....We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0
