As you haven't actually been sold a mortage, this cannot be a case of miss-selling."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

You could put in a complaint
You could also ask how this would be classed as Treating Customers Fairly
You might also suggest that the adviser in question gets some re-trainingI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Ok thanks, probably not the right term then but something is clearly amiss. Slightly worrying that the system readily accepted DH's staff no. and provided a quote for staff rate.
Do you actually think if we can complain it's going to get us anywhere though, don't really want to have problems getting the mortgage.
Looks like we're going to have to stay with them. for the new part of the mortgage (part that finishes early next year will be moved to a staff mortgage as soon as it can).

The £600 should be refunded. Its fair enough they say the deal isnt available as you want it but they should refund the charge.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If you are staying with the current mortgage provider and porting and obtaining the balance etc, the survey would still be required wouldn't it? So would assume that because of the error from the mortgage adviser that your existing lender will accept the same survey because of the problems caused? Worth a try?I am a Mortgage Adviser
