solicitors letter!

Options
hi all,

today i returned home from work and was greeted with a solicitors letter [Eversheds llp] acting on behalf of Egg for the outstanding balance of £6500

they said " failure to make a payment will result in our seeking a CCJ, which once enforced could result in bailifs visiting your home to seize goods and or levying a charge against any property you own,

can they do this?

i'm starting my DMP on May 1st with CCCS should i let them know about this? or should i contact these people myself?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Best regards

Luke:eek:

    Hi Luke
Don't know much about this but firstly don't panic I would let cccs know and let them deal with it!!
From what i have gathered from this forum this is the norm!!you get letter's and phone call's But if you are doing a DMP don't worry!!

If I were you I would tell CCCS and perhaps forward them a copy of the letter as well. It may be worth you calling Eversheds and explain to them that you are starting a DMP with CCCS.

I would do it ASAP you don't want to get a CCJ and bailiffs coming round to your house isn't a pleasant experience.

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.
  • hi,no dont worry to much about this it is a threat baically yes you can be taken to court yes you can have a cj against you if you dont pay it all off there and then .no bailiffs from the court or any where can approach you if you have entered in to a repayment with the court .(how much you can afford),and then not kept up with the payments even then they would have to go back to the court to be allowed to send in the bailiffs . so just make an offer by letter dont enter in to phone chitt catt its pointless and you have know proof of what was agreed and if they take you to court fill out the forms only with what you can afford and send them off and stick to the payments

Ive had these. If you stick to your offer and keep them informed , then not much they can do in court. A court wont award more than you cna afford to pay
