Is 7.29% fixed fair for a 90% effective 1st time buyer?

  • Do what i did, NATWEST 5.99% Fixed 5 YEAR . FTB .... Excellent service and they text u with updates on the mortgage / searches ... Once i applied they did the search under a week. Now about to sign contract on house. Top service!

    It does seem a bit high. Why would someone on £50k find it a bit of a struggle to find £1,100 per month though? Does he have a bad credit score and this is affecting who will lend to him? It sounds like he has other debts to contend with and with also wanting 90% loan it's going against him.
