Sorry I've not been around much lately - dashing about and now having to get up to date on comps, then pack for a few days away. Leaving OH and DS to fend for themselves (have filled fridge with pizzas and cupboard with baking potatoes, as well as healthier options, but no doubt they'll be on fish & chips in my absence!)

I'm hoping the lovely Guardian comp (from Friday 13th) will go live this evening. If not I'll PM Dalkirst and let him know I'm not around to update it. Never known one take this long to go live... Typical!

have eaten too much sweet stuff today, rolo donuts, ice cream, and some sweets, how bad is that:rotfl:

and whats with the rain. non stop. flooded still at end of road, and poor pony hasn't got her rug on, as didn't think it would be this bad,
but she is very hairy , think giant shetland pony.
gave her an extra scoop of pony nuts coz i felt bad:rolleyes:

Only £13 e/w from York to Edinburgh at this time of year. I love Edinburgh - it's one of my favourite places, although the tram works aren't great at the moment. I tend to go around the unusual shops and the charity and vintage shops in Stockbridge and Morningside, rather than the city centre.

The hotel is lovely and has wifi but I'm going to cut myself off from MSE for a couple of days, I think! There's a gym and pool too, so if I feel the need I may get on a treadmill rather than trying to log onto the Internet!

Will need to serve tea now - cooked some pork chops for tonight, so I know my DS has eaten properly before I go!

(ps only found the word 'sockpuppet' on another thread of MSE - didn't know there was a word to describe a person who assumes another forum identity - sounds quite cute!)
